Have some cake!

After a long night of tossing and turning mixed with a little sleep I made my way to work.

My coworkers thought I looked tired or sick, I brushed it off, and I guess I looked like crap. I thought it was going I be another of those meh! days I've been having lately.

That was until one of the child and family services workers came down with one of the kids with autism and a balloon. This was a big balloon and the child wanted it blown up. I offered to try; his worker said it goes as big as four feet. So I gave it my all and started to blow all my air into it. As it grew the child's eyes grew and his face was filled with excitement. He was so happy and so thankful that I got it blown up for him. At that moment I realized how truly rewarding my job can be! Maybe this isn't going to be a meh! day after all.

I was sitting in the office talking with Julie and Lesley, Julie was having a piece of cake from M&M's meat shop, Lesley was determined she was going to go and get one for herself after we went out for lunch. Then she remembered the cake would be frozen and she wouldn't be able to eat it right away. So she came up with the idea of going to Metro and buying a Chocolate birthday cake with chocolate icing. As a joke I told her she should ask them to write something random on it like "That's what she said!”

We went for lunch at one of our favorite restaurants La Chaumiere, and was it ever good. Lesley was so excited to go get her chocolate cake. We went to Metro she went in and got her cake. I went to Timmy's to get a coffee to go with this cake. Honestly I normally don't even like chocolate cake but the sound of it was like drops of happiness falling on my meh! day, and it tasted like it too. The sun was out and the air was warmer than it has been in days, we brought the kids outside to play and it was fun!

My meh! day turned out to be a good day!!! Thanks balloon and chocolate cake you truly are the small things in my life that make me happy.

TTYL!
