Number 4 - Books are Awesome!

In the last year I have taken quite the interest in reading. Don’t get me wrong I always enjoyed the thought of reading a good book. As a matter of fact I have a lovely collection of books on my shelves. I loved heading to Coles, Wal-Mart, Shoppers Drugmart or even a yard sale in search for a great book. I would get home sit down read a couple chapters in my new book put it down and never pick it up again. I found it hard to get into reading for the longest time.
Books to me are just as valuable as gold. You may say “Natasha gold is worth a lot more and is much more shinny and pretty than a book” to that I would say “You are right! Gold is pretty shinny!” What I mean is I would never throw away gold, even if it was my ring from my high school boyfriend which he probably paid $2 for in a machine at the mall, it’s still shinny! To me books are better than gold (don’t tell my man this..) and books should never be thrown out, they should be donated to local schools, daycares, or second hand stores.
Alrighty then back to my recent interest in reading. The book that made me get back into reading and love it was the Book of Awesome! I bought this book back in the summer of 2010right before attending my annual girls weekend with 5 other girls that I have known since I was 7. I won’t get into details of our annual girls weekends just yet as I am sure I can save a couple blog entries for some fun stories about these annual weekends.  Ok back to The Book of Awesome! I bought it before the weekend and as we were lounging trying to tan our cheeks, haha, I was reading the book. When I found some entries that I believed the girls would enjoy I read them out loud, we laughed about how truly awesome this book of awesome is!
This book was my gateway book to my addiction to reading! Since that book I have moved on to read some more. Luckily enough a few of the girls I work with are also avid readers so we sometimes exchange books with each other that we have enjoyed. There something truly awesome about taking time away from my busy life to sit and read a book. It’s a moment in my day where the TV is off, Jamie is in bed, and I cuddle up and read my book. And now when I place my books up on the shelf I have read it front to back! Now that is truly AWESOME!

Peace.
